We’re called to be a church with a forward-leaning faith.
For 150 years, First United Methodist Church has invested in this community—even before Blue Springs existed as a town! And throughout that 150 years, we’ve gone through countless changes and updates because our predecessors had a forward-leaning faith that invested in the next generation. Now we have an opportunity to lean forward like they have! We’re beginning the Faith Forward Campaign to pursue the dream of updating our facilities to serve our mission to "lead people to an active faith in Christ."
This will involve:
- New exterior signage to let our community know we’re here.
- Expanding and updating our lobby to include a “cafe” space and seating.
- Update our lobby bathrooms.
- Update carpet in the sanctuary.
- Rearranging and renovating our current adult classrooms, children areas, and youth areas.
Other details
- We are not taking any additional debt for this project. We will spend what is given and nothing else.
- Work will be done in two phases.
- Phase One includes exterior signage, lobby and cafe space, lobby bathrooms, and sanctuary carpeting.
- Phase Two involves adult classrooms, children and youth spaces, and Learning Ladder classrooms.
- Renovations will begin in November. We anticipate Phase One to be completed by summer 2023.

How you can helP
- We’re starting a one-year campaign called “Faith Forward" to raise approximately $700,000.
- We're inviting our entire church to pray and ask God how they can support this project.
- If you have the ability to give above your regular giving, consider giving from income or accumulated assets, or a combination of the two.
- Have conversations about the impact this will have for the future of our church!
